Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Happy Holidays
I would like to wish all Staff, Students and Community Members a well-deserved and restful two week's holiday. It has been another great term here at Banksia and I look forward to seeing you all back here after the holidays.
Staffing Changes
A huge thank you to Mr Adsett for the great job he has done being our Year 2/3 Deputy this term. Mr Adsett has been successful in gaining a Permanent Deputy Principal Position at Eagle Junction SS starting Term 2. We are currently in the process of finding a replacement for Mr Adsett and will let you all know when we have a successful applicant.
Congratulations to Mr Wilson for being appointed permanent in his role as Deputy Principal here at Banksia. Mr Wilson is a valuable member of Team Banksia and we are very happy to have him here permanently.
We also welcome back Mrs Coe to Banksia Beach SS in Term 2. Mrs Coe will be teaching Technology for Yr1&2, Prep D on Thursday and 3A on Fridays.
Disco
Thank you to the P&C for the awesome discos last night. It was a very busy night with plenty of students having an enjoyable end of term celebration. Thank you also to the staff members that made themselves available to help supervise on the night.
Keep an Eye on Our School Over the Holidays
With the holidays fast approaching, we need you to look out for after-hours crime in our school. If you see something suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene. Call School Watch on 13 17 88 and let the local police or State Government Protective Security Service deal with the matter.
The School Watch program is a partnership between the Department of Education and Training, the Queensland Police Service and the State Government Protective Security Service. It aims to reduce vandalism, theft and arson in Queensland schools.
Keep the number handy and let’s work together to help create a safer school community.
