Dear Parents/Caregivers,

NAPLAN Online

Good luck to all our Year 5 and Year 3 students that have started their NAPLAN testing for 2023. Students have already completed their Writing with Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy to go.

I would like to thank all staff that are supporting students throughout the testing window. I would also like to thank our Specialist Technology staff that have done an awesome job ensuring we have the devices for students to use. I also must acknowledge our NAPLAN coordinator Mr Wilson for the many hours in the lead up to enable a smooth running of the test window.

Teddy Bears Picnic

It was great to see some very excited Prep students (and staff) enjoy a day full of activities with their teddies last Friday. I saw some very excited Preps coming back from their ‘Bear Hunt’ with their binoculars ready to spot any hiding Bears.

Thank you to the Lions Club for donating and handing out Teddies to our Preps in the afternoon to conclude a very exciting day.

Swim Carnivals

Well done to all the students in Years 4-6 that participated over the three days of swimming carnivals last week. I enjoyed seeing how well organised and well run the days were, I think having the carnivals over three days is a great initiative.

Once again thank you to all the staff that helped Mr Mac over the three days to keep everything running smoothly. Also thank you to Mr Fern for all the work in the lead up to the event, unfortunately he couldn’t be there on the days.

Congratulations to all students that came 1st 2nd or 3rd in age champions and of course to Mighty Miramar for being the winning house overall.

P&C AGM

Thank you to all that attended the annual P&C AGM on Tuesday evening. I would like to congratulate the new and continuing members of the executive committee and look forward to working with them in 2023.

Year 6 Camp

I hope all students have a great time on Camp next Monday through Wednesday, I’m sure you will have a range of great activities to enjoy at Currimundi.

Thank you to the staff that are also attending the camp for the three days, spending time away from their own families.

Gold Parades

I look forward to celebrating great behaviour in week 10 at our Gold Awards for each Year level. Dates and times of the Gold Award Parades will be detailed in this newsletter.
