Welcome to Banksia Beach State School

Welcome to Banksia Beach State School. Banksia Beach State School provides educational opportunities for primary age students from Prep to Year 6.

Banksia Beach State School provides a high quality education enabling every student to achieve personal excellence.

The school was established in January, 1992 and in 2017 has a total enrolment of 1059 students. Banksia Beach State School is located on beautiful Bribie Island and is just a 50 minute drive to Brisbane. It covers 8.4 hectares of landscaped grounds with four ovals, multi-purpose courts and an outstanding Performing Arts Hall.

In 2013, Banksia Beach State School was named as an Independent Public School in recognition of the high quality educational opportunities offered to students in the areas of academia, sport, music and citizenship.

Banksia Beach State School offers Programs of Excellence in Academia, Sport and Performing Arts. We lead the way in offering educational experiences which promote the growth and development of well-balanced, confident young students. Through a differentiated and negotiated curriculum our students are able to access all core requirements of ACARA while meeting challenges within a supportive environment to encourage skill development within their chosen Program of Excellence.

With the development of a specialised Year 6 program, the transition to high school is a smooth

and co-ordinated journey which supports our students and ensures a successful advancement. The Programs of Excellence assist with recognition and inclusion in high school extension programs. The integration of quality ICT resources in every classroom allows our students to access the latest technologies.

Our students learn the value of striving for excellence and through this effort change not only their educational outcomes but also their lives. We are Team Banksia and we strive for success every day.
