SWINE FLU UPDATE

The Australian Government has announced that Victoria has become the first state to raise its response level to H1N1 Influenza A (Human Swine Influenza) from CONTAIN to a modified SUSTAIN level.

This reflects the comparatively higher level of spread of the disease in Victoria to other states.

STUDENT CONTACT DETAILS UPDATES

Thank you to the many families who have returned their child’s updated details. We have had approximately two thirds of families return their forms. Can you please check with your child that they have handed their forms to either their class teacher or into the school office. Having correct information ensures that parents can be contacted in the event of an emergency.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

Banksia Beach State School has an excellent instrumental music program and is able to offer tuition on a range of orchestral musical instruments (please note that keyboard and guitar are NOT taught as part of this program). Parents who wish to have their child tested in order to gauge their suitability to learn a musical instrument at school are asked to complete an Expression of Interest form which can be obtained from the school office.

MESSAGES TO STUDENTS IN THE AFTERNOONS

It would be appreciated if parents could finalise pickup details with their children before school. It is appreciated that emergency situations do arise but it is sometimes difficult to locate classes and students who may be on the oval, doing a class activity that is outside the classroom or at assembly.
