Banksia Beach State School acknowledges and values the voices, concerns and aspirations of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, parents and community. We are inviting our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students' families to Banksia Beach State School for the opportunity to share with us their cultural knowledge and practices and how we can embed additional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives within the curriculum /classrooms. We are actively seeking input and involvement to create a culturally safe environment for all students, parents and community members.

These times may not accommodate everyone; we are hoping by having planned dates for 2022 this will give our parents/carers and community members plenty of time to be able to be available. Unfortunately, our first meeting scheduled for Monday 14th February has had to be cancelled due to current covid restrictions.
In Term 2 we have some very important Cultural Days/Weeks, in order to seek parent/carer and community input and involvement we will be offering 4 meeting times and depending on the outcome and planned action from these meetings there may be opportunities for more meeting times.
Our staff are more than happy to arrange a time to meet with you if it is not possible for you to attend any of these dates and times as we value any involvement, input or feedback.
