ICAS 2022
ICAS Assessments are online asessments, designed to recognise and reward academic excellence. The assessments are based on the curricula for the relevant year. Students are asked to demonstrate a deeper, integrated, and thorough level of knowledge. ICAS subjects offered at Banksia Beach State School are: English, Maths, Science and Digital Technologies.
Students who complete each assessment are provided with an individual diagnostic report highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, alongside a certificate acknowledging their level of achievement.
More information can be found on the ICAS website:

The ICAS tests will be conducted online at school during a four-week period in August and September. Each test costs $19.25 however, the school partly funds our highest achieving students, from Year 2-6 to participate.
This year we are again going to undertake ICAS Digital Technologies, as an option to students in year 3-6, with assessment places fully funded by parents. Banksia are unable to offer Spelling this year due to timetable clashing, as it is conducted in the same week as ICAS Science. If you would like your child to participate in ICAS Spelling or ICAS Writing assessments, you can organise this by contacting ICAS and registering to complete these at the external testing centre. https://www.icasassessments.com/contact-us/
Banksia’s ICAS co-ordinator is Mrs Megan Goves (STLaN – Support Teacher Literacy and Numeracy).
