Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

Thank you to the many parents who ensured your child was so beautifully presented and marched at the community march on ANZAC Day.  We are so fortunate at our school to have so many parents who value community events and make sacrifices in family plans to help us say thank you to our returned service men and women for their efforts.  I was so very proud of our young trumpeters Jy Raleigh, Sam Godfrey and Aiden Hendry who played “The Last Post” and “Reveille” at our school service, the Dawn Service and the Bribie Island Main Service.  A very difficult piece performed in front of thousands would be daunting for many professional musicians let alone three 10 year old boys.  Well done boys; a fabulous effort.  Congratulations also to our Marching Band who also gave up lunch time after lunch time to perform at such a fabulous standard.  We are very fortunate to have a great partnership with the RSL Sub Branch who have sponsored this group ensuring they look so professional.

Air Conditioning
Thanks to the efforts of past and present P&C’s every classroom will be air conditioned.  Thank you to all who have supported our fund raising efforts over the past years to see this become a reality.  Currently our Business Service Manager is working through the tendering process.

Mother’s Day
Our P&C have organised a wonderful Mother’s Day stall and local businesses have supported our raffle.  Children will be allocated a time on either Thursday or Friday of next week and children will be able to purchase gifts for $5 or $10.  We will be discussing at the next P&C meeting our new priorities, now that sufficient funds have been raised for air conditioning.  Thank you to all members of the P&C for volunteering.  You make a difference for all students.

Big Band Plays at the RSL
Next Wednesday the Big Band will play at the RSL on Wednesday night as a fundraiser for our trip to Sydney. They will play between 6pm and 7pm.  Come and support a very talented and hard working group of students to achieve their goal of competing in an international music competition and playing at the Sydney Opera House.

Let’s Have a Great Week!
