Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

Thank you for a wonderful first term. It was lovely to catch up with so many parents at the Gold assemblies who spoke to me about the positive learnings and activities children had been involved in during this term.  Take the time over the holidays to reflect on Term 1 and prepare for Term 2.  98% of students received a Gold certificate. We are very fortunate to have such a well behaved student body.

Parent Involvement
Thank you to our new office bearers of our P&C.  Rosalie De Boer, President, Lisa Newby, Vice President, Allan Andersen, Secretary and Jayne Wales Treasurer.  Thank you also to the new P&C members who signed up on the AGM.  Our next meeting is April 12 at 6:30pm in the Conference Room at the back of the library.  All are very welcome. Thank you also to the many parents who signed up to be year level representatives.  We will meet again in Week 3 and discuss progress made and the agenda for Term 2.  Thank you to all who give freely of your time to benefit all of our students.

Easter raffle
Thank you to Pak and the Student Councillors who have organised the Easter raffle.  Wow!  What a response from our wonderful community!  Over 80 prizes for each parade and we have raised enough funds to air condition one room!

ANZAC Day March
Banksia’s Marching Band will again lead the march on ANZAC Day to the RSL and children have been working with members of the RSL to ensure they put on a fabulous display on ANZAC Day.  We also like to have a great presentation of students in the march to show our respect for our returned service men and women.  If children march they receive 10 points towards their citizenship badge which requires 20 points in total.  We would love to have as many students as last year;  700 is the magic number!  Keep April 25 aside to march with our school.  A form will come out in the first week of next term.

Goals for Term 2
Next term by the end of week 2 you will receive your child’s goals for Term 2.  Take the time to discuss these with your child and during the term discuss how your child is working towards achieving this goal.

Have a peaceful and a relaxing Easter break before we begin a very busy Term 2.
