Homestay Families required

An International Study Tour Program is being introduced this year at Banksia Beach State School.  We believe the program will be of significant benefit to the school and local community and will add a positive dimension to student’s learning experience.

Banksia Beach State School will be hosting Korean students 21 July to 9 August and future tours are currently being planned.  We are currently looking for homestay families in our local area to host these students.  Homestay families provide the opportunity for visiting students to practice their English conversational skills and learn about Australian culture in a secure and caring home environment.  International students develop lasting friendships with their host families.

Homestay families:

  • Are carefully chosen from the school community
  • Are committed to providing the best experience for the student
  • Must have a current Blue Card from CCYPCG
  • Provide visiting students with their own room with study facilities, three meals each day and access to transport to and from school and school related activities
  • A monetary contribution will be made to families to help defray costs..

Families willing to accommodate an international student will be invited to attend an information session which will provide further information on the program, associated school support and cultural aspects involved in hosting an international student.  The date of the information session will be advised shortly.

For more information please contact the school’s International Study Tour and Homestay Coordinator, Mr Nick Morris, by calling the school on 3408 5333 or emailing
